For all of the musicals performed on the GHS stage in the past 29 years, Mr. Frederick always sat in the same spot.
In the orchestra pit.

At the end of the 2022-23 school year, he is retiring.

Here are some photos of Mr. Fredrick in action. They were included in the Front-Of-House slideshow that ran during "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", March 2023. Note that none of the photos are from that production. You can find those here.

This first one gives you a birds-eye view of the orchestra pit. One of his super powers was fitting all the right people playing all the right instruments into that small space.

The photo was taken during rehearsal for "Beauty in the Beast". The stage floor took over two months to paint and included a hidden image, which would appear when exposed to black light. That was the plan.

This next one is a favorite because of the look between the actress and musician.
You've seen this shot more than once. It is from "Into the Woods".

This one is a composit of images from several different productions.

Mr. Frederick's dedication to music and the theatre kept him at GHS for many many long days.
Especially during Tech Week, which is the week a production is to open.
I have no idea on how many productions he was the music director for but I hope to find out.

How great was it that the auditorium sold out for his final performance.
